About The Bath, Maine Weather Station

It is powered by a Davis Vantage Pro wireless weather station. While the website is refreshed every 5 minutes, the data is gathered from the station every 1 second. The "LIVE" portion of this site is just that, LIVE. What is seen on the station console, is seen on the live page.

The stations instruments are located in my side yard, approx. 65 feet from the the receiver unit in my home. Instruments are mounted on a tripod with mast sections, per the NWS recommended distances from the ground, for each individual sensor.

The weather cam is provided using a Logitech Quickcam Pro 4000. It's images (still and live) are controlled by Webcam32 software. Still images will be updated every 2 minutes. The camera is mounted on the back deck, facing east overlooking the Kennebec River with plenty of sky to view.

The domain name "BathMaineWeather.com" is registered with Domain Discount. The site is hosted very inexpensively on Blue Host.

Some data on the site is provided by the National Weather Service and Weather Underground. Radar and radar loops are from a on-board radar program called GRLevel3. Radar images are uploaded every 5 minutes.

Time is set to Official US Time and updated daily for accuracy. However, the live clock on the site is based on your computer's time. So if it is wrong, so is your computer's clock.

Site data is shared with both Weather Underground and the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration's Citizen Weather Observer Program (CWOP).
